Claude Lalumière and Marty Halpern, editors
Witpunk

When the world is just too stupid, brutal, or annoying to believe — strike back by laughing at it.

Mercilessly. Relentlessly. Surrealistically. Craftily.

Sardonically. Witpunkishly.

Witpunk features more than twenty stories — half of them original to this volume and the other half classic and recent gems specifically chosen for the timelessness of their satirical bite. The authors include celebrated award-winners such as Robert Silverberg, Allen Steele, Cory Doctorow, Jeffrey Ford, Pat Murphy, Pat Cadigan, Nina Kiriki Hoffman, William Sanders, Hiromi Goto, and James Morrow; a few brand-new writers making their literary debut; and acclaimed state-of-the-art satirists such as Paul Di Filippo, Bradley Denton, Don Webb, Ernest Hogan, Eugene Byrne, Leslie What, Laurent McAllister, David Langford, William Browning Spencer, and Ray Vukcevich.

The stories in Witpunk — whether science fiction, fantasy, crime fiction, horror, or realist fiction — range in style from dark comedy to laugh-out-loud farce, from surrealistic fancy to cautionary satire, from rebellious transgression to exuberant hilarity, from gonzo weirdness to macabre humor.
